I want to thank everyone for their entries. It was so hard to choose just one as my favorite. The Dreamers by Kitchmill is my favorite entry. It shows if you never give up your dreams, it can happen. Also, unexpected great things are possible if you just open your mind and your heart. 

Julie_durden – Secret Keeper

Oceans is woven so deftly with the changes in time between past and present and the use of song lyrics denoting changes in sections of the story. This one shot gives us the feeling of young love weighted down by issues no teenager should deal with but manages to hold onto hope throughout. The author manages to showcase the pain both characters felt and makes it easy to understand the dilemmas faced on their journey.

CupcakeDivaFF – Judge 

Let me start off by saying I. Loved. This. Story. Musicward or Songella fics are some of my favorite. For me, when an author can make the songs or music a third main character, it tends to create something beautiful, heartbreaking and just overall amazing. That is what “Oceans” did for me. This story pulled me in and made me hurt in the best way. The ending was perfect and I loved how everything ended up coming full circle for my favorite couple. I’m writing this still not knowing who the author was. I can’t wait to find out so I can go and read EVERYTHING they’ve written. If they are a first time writer, be prepared to be stalked till you give me more words!!!

All of the entries for Bandward Contest are amazing. Each one has something special to read, love, and lose myself in. Choosing one favorite is a real challenge. 

Fireflies In The Meadow roused my emotions like no other story has done in quite some time. It’s a tale of how truly heartbreaking love can be. We don’t always love what’s good for us. That doesn’t mean we feel it any less, or want it any less. Even when we know it can only end in pain. 

This is a story about getting too close to the flame and letting it burn you time and time again. It made me angry; boiling mad, to be honest. Then numbness set in. Still, by the end, I felt hope. It’s not easy to accomplish all of that in a oneshot. This entry nailed it.

I’d like to thank the author, Hoodfabulous, for wrecking my emotions with characters that felt a little too close to my distant past at times, and for a story I won’t soon forget.

Megz0317 – Judge 

While in Nashville for the most recent TwiFic Meet Up, a few of us had a laugh with a guitar player in a band. He wanted us to write him as a character in “one of our stories.”  Just weeks later this contest came about from that late night conversation, and Bandward was born. Fireflies in the Meadow by Hoodfabulous was just so beautiful and heartbreaking. It started so innocently, with the lilting visuals that Hoodfabulous is so wonderful at creating. And then it quite suddenly slammed you back to reality. It’s an agonizing tale that I’m sure all of us can relate to on some level – I know I did. Weeks after I first read this one shot and I’m still thinking about it.

Choosing among the entries was a tough endeavor, there were a lot of worthy one shots submitted, and I'm honored to have had the chance to read them all and be a part of this contest. I ended up choosing Oceans because through the haunting, underlying back story that weaves its way in, giving you bits and pieces., the overall theme was tied to what this contest ultimately was: a Bandward. Music lives throughout this entry, and guides the journey along its affecting, well-formulated path.

DoveLove1097 – Judge 

My favorite story was 'Oceans' and the title is perfect, since this fic sweeps you under with Edward’s pain. I loved the rich, beautiful writing and how music and Bandward were ever present. You never lost sight of the real drama of Edward and Bella's love.

I want to pick The Dreamers!! Because we all have dreams that others see as silly, and seeing two people get what they want the most, plus a relationship, just makes me happy!
